Shipping, Returns & FAQs

PACKING & SHIPPING

All jewelry is carefully packaged in a gift box and bubble mailer for shipment. Multiple items may be consolidated into one gift box for shipping and eco-friendly purposes. However, if you would like individual gift boxes please contact us at info@saressadesigns.com and let us know (remember to include your order #).

A copy of your order and receipt is auto-emailed at the time of purchase. A packing list is also included in your order as we use this to double check that your order is properly filled. If you would like the packing list excluded (i.e. your order is a gift) please email info@saressadesigns.com to request this, and include your order # in the subject line.

A packing list is always included for international orders to ensure customs clearance and help avoid any delays to you.

International orders - Please note that we are not responsible for any customer, duty, taxes, VAT or other fees associated with accepting packages from the United States. These fees are determined by individual country and out of our control. We do make every effort to reduce / avoid unnecessary fees with proper customs forms and tariff codes.

If your purchase is a gift, and you would like us to include a note inside the gift box or have items placed in separate gift boxes, just let us know during the checkout process. There is a 'notes' section where you can add any special requests, from adding notes to packages to requesting special chain length or materials.

All orders are shipped via USPS or USPS International First Class Mail. Priority and Express options are available for domestic orders. If you prefer an alternative method of shipment please contact us and we can provide a quote for any carrier you choose.

Standard Shipping (USPS First Class) is not automatically insured. However, you can choose to add insurance to your package during checkout by selecting the insured upgrade.

We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages / items that re shipped uninsured. It is disheartening when packages are tampered with, but it is out of our control once the package is in the hands of the shipping carrier.

Repairs or Alterations

Jewelry is something that we imagine as timeless. Yet, as time goes by continuous wear and elements can break down pieces. The better you care for and store your jewelry, the longer it will last. If your piece should break at any time after purchase I will gladly repair it for you! Please try to save any/all stones as replacements may not be available. Many repairs can be made free of charge less shipping costs.

FAQs

My tracking says 'Delivered' but I have not received my item

A. This occurs with USPS from time to time with several reasons as the possible culprit.  Most often your mail courier scanned the package for delivery but forgot to leave it in the mailbox or on your porch.  If this is the case the package will likely turn up in a few days.

Please be sure to check any spaces on / around your porch and check with neighbors across from and adjacent to your home as packages are sometimes delivered there by accident.

You may also need to visit the post office your mail is delivered from.  Bring your ID and tracking # and inform the USPS employee you speak with of your missing package.  Sometimes packages are misplaced and can be found waiting at the post office.

If your package is still M.I.A. please contact us.

How long will it take to receive my package overseas?

A.  The answer can vary from country to country. Most packages deliver within 10 business days once shipped.  However, this time frame can vary due to customs clearance processes, and the number of packages being processed through customs at any given time.  If the customs location has a larger volume of packages, clearance may take several days or weeks.  Customs offices also reserve the right to place random holds on any package or perform random searches on any package.  This is not a common experience for our packages but something to take note of if your package is taking longer than usual to deliver.  In some cases delivery may take up to 6 weeks.

I see an item I love, but would prefer it in another metal, length, size or color

A. Please email info@saressadesigns.com.  Many alterations are easy to do and we are happy to accommodate your request for the perfect piece of jewelry!

Are your items made in the USA?

A. Yes! All jewelry is made by hand in our Portland, OR studio by owner / designer Rachel Hughes. Gemstones / Druzy is purchased worldwide, with many stones being custom cut to shape & size especially for Saressa Designs. All metals are purchased in the United States.

What is Gold-Filled?

A.  Gold Filled metal differs from gold plated metal.  Gold Filled is composed of a solid layer of gold that is heat / pressure bonded to itself around a core of base metal (usually brass).  This layer is 100% thicker than gold plating (usually a thin microfilm of gold at best) and is tarnish resistant for this reason as well as higher in value than plated metals or sterling silver. It wears like solid gold and will last years if cared for properly. Gold Filled metal is also allergy safe for most.

Gold Vermeil is gold plating over sterling silver instead of a brass or other base metal material

See our jewelry care instructions for more details on keeping your jewelry looking like new.

How large is your company?

Saressa Designs is a small family owned and operated business! All jewelry is handmade to order by Rachel, the designer, with the utmost attention and care. Her husband Jonathan oversees and carefully packages / ships all orders (retail and wholesale).  Depending on the time of year, 2-4 part time assistants help prepare materials, package and ship, and prepare retail orders with love and care.

Production timelines are based solely on order volumes at any given time.  There is so much that goes into operating a small business, and we are so thankful to all of you who make this a daily reality.  We appreciate your patience, understanding and patronage more than we can say!
