Wow, 2012 is gone. It sort of feels like Total Recall, thinking back on this last year. In January, I was just getting my feet wet on Etsy, had barely begun to build this website, and was so stoked about having my first wholesale account under my belt which meant my designs were carried in 2 shops. I was totally excited to try and change that. Now, with barely a toe dipping into 2013 I have grown from being carried by 2 shops, to 16 shops. Yep,16 and there is a chance that number will increase again before month of January is out. I'm stunned, grateful to the 100th power and a little exhausted... in a good way. I was also blessed to be picked up by Parker + Paige and The Artisan Group which I wholeheartedly believe has helped expand my line in such a drastic way. I have so much more I could blab on about, but I will simply say THANK YOU to all of my colleagues and customers for making 2012 so amazing. I cannot wait for all that 2013 has in store for my line. Now, I want to kick off 2013 with some amazing news that I've been dying to share.
A few weeks ago, I had the incredible opportunity through The Artisan Group, to submit one piece of jewelry to Audrey Fisher, the amazing costume designer for HBO's True Blood. I decided to send in my newest design, my Ice Age necklace, which I just finished prior to the opportunity coming up. My gut told me it was the right piece to submit, so I did without hesitation. Within 24 hours of confirmation that Audrey had received my necklace, I was informed that it was selected to be used in the upcoming season (6) of True Blood. Um, Er-Mah-Gerd! (<-- OMG. For those of you who have no idea what that's about just google the word w/o the hyphens). I don't have confirmation yet as to who will be wearing my necklace but once I find out who, when and where, I will be sure to update you all. I'm incredibly excited and flattered to have been chosen, and I think this is an incredible way to start the new year off. Here's a photo of the necklace along with a link to the item description here on site:

Thanks to everybody who weighed in on which necklace I should send to the wardrobe stylist for The Vampire Diaries. It was such a hard decision to pick just ONE design to send. I put a lot of thought into my choice, which was influenced by all my voters (especially the ones who are die-hard fans of the show). In the end, my 'bleeding love' necklace was the one chosen. It's headed to TVD and hopefully will find a home around the neck of one of the amazing characters (though I intend it for a specific person on the show).
In all honesty, I named this necklace 'bleeding love' with a specific person in mind; my mom-in-law. Ruby is her birthstone, so when I first put this piece together, I was trying to think of something she would treasure. I was also inspired by her never-ending love for her family and all she does constantly to show us that love.
So, with that said, let's see how many varieties of love stories this bad boy can inspire! :)

Take a 'bleeding love' necklace home with you: http://www.saressadesigns.com/collections/necklaces/products/bleeding-love-necklace

A week ago tonight I was feeling pretty anxious as the GBK Luxury Gift Lounge honoring the 2012 MTV Movie Awards had taken place, and I wanted to know how it went. This is was my first time ever participating in any big event like this where my designs would be on display, handled by celebrities, members of the press and many other people. It took me 6+ years to gather the nerve to simply get serious about my Etsy shop, so this felt like a huge step forward. I am SO THANKFUL I had the opportunity to participate in this event and am already seeing positive outcomes. A special edition of my Delgado necklace was on display. This one:

Celebrities that attended the event were in large part young actors/actresses who are on the rise. Some of the attendees included:
Janel Parrish - Pretty Little Liars
Kevin Rahm - Desperate Housewives, Mad Men
Darcy Rose Byrnes - Desperate Housewives
Maira Walsh - Desperate Housewives, Switched At Birth (3 films in production)
Benjamin Charles Watson - The L.A. Complex (CW)
Janina Gavankar - True Blood, I'm Afraid Of Virginia Wolf
Camille Winbush - The Secret Life Of The American Teenager
Renee Olstead - The Secret Life Of The American Teenager
Iqpal Theba - Glee
Lauren Velez - Dexter
Steven 'Twitch' Boss - So You Think You Can Dance, The LXD
Nikki DeLoach - Awkward (MTV), Ringer (CW)
Jillian Rose Reed - Awkward (MTV), Weeds
Rico & Raini Rodriguez - Modern Family (Rico), Disney's Austin & Ally
Jennifer Love Hewitt
Autumn Reeser - The O.C., Hawaii Five-0, No Ordinary Family, Entourage, So Undercover, Last Resort (pre-production)
Tinsel Korey - Twilight Saga
Deborah S. Craig - Hart of Dixie (CW)
Camilla Luddington - True Blood, Californication
This is just a few from the list.
Over the course of Friday-Saturday (June 1st-2nd), feedback started rolling in from Twitter. Here are some tweets The Artisan Group as a whole received:
If this wasn't exciting enough for me, I also received some personal tweets in response to the rose gold hoops:
I also had the privilege of receiving photos of the lovely Autumn Reeser and the adorable Raini Rodriguez modeling my Delgado necklace at the event! You can see the photos under the listing for that necklace.
Needless to say, I am pretty excited for how things have turned out. I was hoping my work would be well received, but very honored at the unexpected response. There are other opportunities cropping up already as a direct result of my involvement and it has only been 1 week since the event. Many celebrities are so busy they haven't even had time to open their gift bags yet. I am thankful and blessed to be a part of The Artisan Group! I'm looking forward to what this Summer has in store for me and I love sharing it with you all. I'm so blessed :)

It is surreal to me that it is only a matter of weeks until the 2012 MTV Movie Awards takes place. It seems like I just received the confirmation email that my jewelry would be included in 100 celebrity swag bags, and now those 100 pair of rose gold hoops are packaged and ready to ship to California tomorrow morning along with my special edition Delgado necklace. I will be holding my breath until FedEx confirms that my boxes arrive safely at their destination, and then I'll be able to relax for a few weeks until the gift lounge, hosted by GBK,takes place. It has been a long time coming and a lot of hard work to juggle this project along with a few others in the works, so I'm really excited and ready to enjoy this experience.
Here are some images of the rose gold hoops the celebrities will receive in their swag bags, as well as a few shots of the outside packaging. There are 7 different colors, all available here at SaressaDesigns.com for purchase so you can have a pair as well!
Here is a shot of the necklace that will be on display in the GBK Gift Lounge. It will also be available for purchase in the next few days here at SaressaDesigns.com and also on my Etsy site.
