Ok, time to cut to the chase. So last night, the talented and adorable Selena Gomez performed live at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, putting on an outstanding show to a sold-out arena of fans. The concert was part of her Stars Dance world tour, celebrating her new album. During the after party back-stage, Selena and her crew were gifted swag bags from The Artisan Group. Among the goodies, Selena received one of our Valkyrie necklaces, and a selection of crew members each received an Argonaut necklace (pyrite nuggets)

A week ago tonight I was feeling pretty anxious as the GBK Luxury Gift Lounge honoring the 2012 MTV Movie Awards had taken place, and I wanted to know how it went. This is was my first time ever participating in any big event like this where my designs would be on display, handled by celebrities, members of the press and many other people. It took me 6+ years to gather the nerve to simply get serious about my Etsy shop, so this felt like a huge step forward. I am SO THANKFUL I had the opportunity to participate in this event and am already seeing positive outcomes. A special edition of my Delgado necklace was on display. It is surreal to me that it is only a matter of weeks until the 2012 MTV Movie Awards takes place. It seems like I just received the confirmation email that my jewelry would be included in 100 celebrity swag bags, and now those 100 pair of rose gold hoops are packaged and ready to ship to California tomorrow morning along with my special edition Delgado necklace. I will be holding my breath until FedEx confirms that my boxes arrive safely at their destination, and then I'll be able to relax for a few weeks until the gift lounge, hosted by GBK,takes place. It has been a long time coming and a lot of hard work to juggle this project along with a few others in the works, so I'm really excited and ready to enjoy this experience.

Yes, you read that right. Because of the amazing folks at The Artisan Group, Saressa Designs  jewelry is going into a swag bag headed for the amazing Khloe Kardashian. I am thrilled to be designing a piece for her! 

 Things are getting so busy around here and it's really exciting to watch the growth happening...even through squinty tired eyes ;) 

The Artisan Group has approved my Lava Turquoise Necklace for Drew Barrymore's swag bag. I decided to make her edition in 14K Gold FIll (the original is in brass) which looks bright and beautiful! Here is how it turned out:

As for the MTV Movie Awards, I'm working to get my 100 pair of Rose Gold hoops made. I'm about halfway there, and also have my limited edition Delgado Necklace finished for the display. Two more colors of Rose Gold hoops have been added in my shop. All participating artists also had to submit a short bio for The Artisan Group's 'Event Guide' which is given to each celebrity in their swag bag. Writing a bio had to be one of the single-handed most difficult things I have had to do yet. Writing about myself, and in the third person, is just not something that comes naturally to me. However, this experience is already helping expand my knowledge, understanding and growth as an artist, and I'm so thankful for that.

When I thought it couldn't get any more busy around here, I received a very unexpected email today. I have been accepted to participate in the 2012 Sandy Mountain Festival this year, which is quite a large artisan venue! It's jurried which means you have to apply and typically such events are bombarded with jewelers. I'm really excited to have been selected and can't wait to introduce Saressa Designs to a large audience. This event will be held in Sandy, OR on July 14-15th, 2012. I am so excited! Because of the wonderful people at The Artisan Group, a piece of my jewelry will soon be in the hands of Drew Barrymore! I have no idea what I'm making for her yet, but there will be updates as soon as details are available.  

The Saressa Designs jewelry for 2012 MTV Movie awards swag bags has finally been decided. 100 pairs of my signature 14K Rose Gold hoops will be added to the swag bags in various colors. Right now you can purchase these hoops right here in Aqua Quartz, Olive Jade and White Jade. Four new colors will be added to the mix for a variety of 7 colors. These colors include some great additions for the Spring-Summer season including tangerine and mustard. All 7 colors will be available here at Saressa Designs in the coming weeks, so be sure to grab your favorite pair!

 The Artisan Group will also have a display table at the 2012 MTV Movie awards, where all artists contributing to the celebrity swag bags will also have one of their hand crafted items on display for celebrities to examine and enjoy. My Delgado necklace (Vintage Horseshoe) has been chosen for the display table, but it will be modified in a limited edition design in 14K Gold Filled, and made extra long for a bohemian feel. This necklace may be available for purchase as well on a limited edition basis, or while supplies last.  I will have more updates as preparations progress.
