Wow, 2012 is gone. It sort of feels like Total Recall, thinking back on this last year. In January, I was just getting my feet wet on Etsy, had barely begun to build this website, and was so stoked about having my first wholesale account under my belt which meant my designs were carried in 2 shops. I was totally excited to try and change that. Now, with barely a toe dipping into 2013 I have grown from being carried by 2 shops, to 16 shops. Yep,16 and there is a chance that number will increase again before month of January is out. I'm stunned, grateful to the 100th power and a little exhausted... in a good way. I was also blessed to be picked up by Parker + Paige and The Artisan Group which I wholeheartedly believe has helped expand my line in such a drastic way. I have so much more I could blab on about, but I will simply say THANK YOU to all of my colleagues and customers for making 2012 so amazing. I cannot wait for all that 2013 has in store for my line. Now, I want to kick off 2013 with some amazing news that I've been dying to share.
A few weeks ago, I had the incredible opportunity through The Artisan Group, to submit one piece of jewelry to Audrey Fisher, the amazing costume designer for HBO's True Blood. I decided to send in my newest design, my Ice Age necklace, which I just finished prior to the opportunity coming up. My gut told me it was the right piece to submit, so I did without hesitation. Within 24 hours of confirmation that Audrey had received my necklace, I was informed that it was selected to be used in the upcoming season (6) of True Blood. Um, Er-Mah-Gerd! (<-- OMG. For those of you who have no idea what that's about just google the word w/o the hyphens). I don't have confirmation yet as to who will be wearing my necklace but once I find out who, when and where, I will be sure to update you all. I'm incredibly excited and flattered to have been chosen, and I think this is an incredible way to start the new year off. Here's a photo of the necklace along with a link to the item description here on site:

Thanks to everybody who weighed in on which necklace I should send to the wardrobe stylist for The Vampire Diaries. It was such a hard decision to pick just ONE design to send. I put a lot of thought into my choice, which was influenced by all my voters (especially the ones who are die-hard fans of the show). In the end, my 'bleeding love' necklace was the one chosen. It's headed to TVD and hopefully will find a home around the neck of one of the amazing characters (though I intend it for a specific person on the show).
In all honesty, I named this necklace 'bleeding love' with a specific person in mind; my mom-in-law. Ruby is her birthstone, so when I first put this piece together, I was trying to think of something she would treasure. I was also inspired by her never-ending love for her family and all she does constantly to show us that love.
So, with that said, let's see how many varieties of love stories this bad boy can inspire! :)

Exciting news! The Artisan Group has had another amazing opportunity in the works and I am thrilled to be a part of it. Leigh Leverett, the wardrobe stylist for The Vampire Diaries, is going to receive a collaborative bag of hand crafted accessories from a few of us Artisan Group members. One of those goodies is a necklace from Saressa Designs. These accessories could appear on upcoming episodes! Which one of these necklaces could you imagine seeing on the show? I've narrowed it down to 4, but am having a tough time committing to one. Do you watch the show or know someone who does? Which one could you imagine on Elena, Bonnie, Caroline or any of the ladies in the show?
If you want to cast your vote, and simultaneously earn a chance to win one of these lovely necklaces, head over to my Facebook page (http://facebook.com/saressadesigns) and leave a comment under the photo! I'm choosing a winner on Friday, 10/12/12, so head on over this week and let me know your opinion. I would LOVE the help :).

In my last post I mentioned that Saressa Designs was selected to design a piece for Alison Sweeney via The Artisan Group. I'm so honored to be designing something for Alison, but wasn't sure where to start. After doing a little research, I think I've come up with something that will (hopefully!) be perfectly 'Alison'. With her birthstone being sapphire and animals (her horse being one) holding such a precious place in her family and heart, I decided to mix two of my current necklaces together: the Counting Stars necklace and the Derby Cat necklace:
Alison's necklace features a large navy Sapphire onion that I've wrapped securely in 14k rose gold filled wire. The Sapphire is suspended from an oxidized sterling silver chain alongside a thick brass stamping of a horse. This horse stamping is made from a vintage press and is rich in detail. I've drilled it and used a 14k gold filled jump ring to attach it to the chain. Sapphire rondelles are set near the clasp to finish it off. I really love it, and I hope she does too.
You can view the two necklaces that inspired this final outcome here:
Saressa Designs will soon be in the hands of the fantastic Alison Sweeney! The selected piece of jewelry will be included in a swag bag to Ali via The Artsian Group. I'm so honored to be designing something for such a lovely person, and a total inspiration. You may know her from Days of Our Lives, and if you haven't seen her on The Biggest Loser, you should catch the upcoming 14th season. Once I've decided what's headed her way I'll be posting photos.

There is more news on the horizon so stay tuned. This year is shaping up to be so fun and such a fantastic blessing!
